Recently, the National Railway Test Center’s heavy-load scientific experiment passed expert review. After hearing the report from the China Academy of Railway Sciences on the National Railway Test Center’s heavy-load scientific experiment, the expert reviewers unanimously agreed that the testing scenarios at the center’s heavy-load test track were rich, providing conditions for conducting heavy-load tests with axle weights of 40 tons and below. The testing capabilities reached a world-leading level. The scientific methods and results of the heavy-load scientific experiment were considered advanced, overall reaching international standards.

Relying on the domestically first heavy-load test track built by the National Railway Test Center, the heavy-load scientific experiment systematically conducted real vehicle tests with axle weights ranging from 23 tons to 40 tons for the first time. This comprehensive validation of the testing capabilities of the heavy load test track confirmed the rationality of the structural design methods for line-bridges-road-tunnel structures designed for axle weights of 35 tons to 40 tons. It also captured the static and dynamic performance of line-bridges-road-tunnel structures under axle weights of 23 tons to 40 tons, the dynamic indicators of heavy-duty trucks, and the changing characteristics of key component dynamic stresses. The experiment revealed the transmission laws of the load of heavy-load trains between infrastructure layers, providing technical support for improving the design theory and methods of infrastructure and mobile equipment for high-axle load heavy-load railway lines.

Experts believe that the successful implementation of the heavy-load scientific experiment marks a breakthrough in the testing capabilities of the National Railway Test Center, and innovative achievements have been made in heavy-load railway technology, providing strong support for China's railways to achieve modernization.
