Guangxi-originating China-Vietnam Freight Trains Show Strong Growth Momentum

In the first four months of this year, the cargo volume transported by China-Vietnam freight trains originating from Guangxi reached 3,216 TEUs. Among them, the cargo volume transported in April reached 1622 TEUs, exceeding the total volume transported in the first quarter, showing strong growth momentum. This has added robust "railway power" to the development of cross-border trade between China and Vietnam.

Since the beginning of this year, CR-Nanning has fully leveraged the advantages of Nanning International Railway Port as a comprehensive logistics hub. They have strengthened freight organization and, in collaboration with Yongzhou Customs, vigorously promoted the railway fast clearance model. This has expanded the scope and declaration entities of the fast clearance service, effectively promoting the shift of cargo transportation "from road to rail". They have tailored transportation solutions for enterprises, provided precise guidance for companies to fully utilize policy dividends, further improved transportation facilitation, and attracted new sources of cargo such as power transmission towers from Southwest China, tempered glass from Beihai, timber from Wuming, and steel pipes from Shandong to gather in Nanning and export to Vietnam via China-Vietnam freight trains. The types of goods transported through Pingxiang railway port have become increasingly diverse, increasing from 116 types in 2019 to the current 364 types.

Now, Guangxi has normalized the operation of China-Vietnam cross-border fast customs clearance trains every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. The transportation time from Nanningnan Railway Station to Vietnam's Yên Viên Railway Station is stabilized at around 14 hours. As of now, the volume of cargo transported by China-Vietnam freight trains originating from Guangxi accounts for 80% of the total container cargo exported to Vietnam by rail in the country. Nanning International Railway Port has gradually become an important distribution center for railway cargo exports to Vietnam.
