Fuxing EMU Train Project Wins Grand Prize of State Sci-Tech Progress Award of Year 2023

     On the meeting conflating the national sci-tech conference, the national science and technology award conference, and the general assemblies of the members of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering held on June 24th to 25th, Fuxing EMU Train Project (hereinafter referred to as the Project) was presented the grand prize of the State Science and Technology Progress Award of the Year 2023 for Chinas high speed railway technology setting up an benchmark in the world. Liu Zhenfang, Secretary of the Party Group and Chairman of the Board of Directors of CR, made a speech on behalf of the organizations responsible for the Project. Ye Yangsheng, Chief Engineer of CR, was received and honored by the leaders of the Party and the State as the representative of the Projects accomplishers.

  Fuxing EMU train has made unprecedented breakthroughs in multiple aspects, including reducing running resistance, energy consumption, and noise, and improving stability. It has also overcome key technical constraints of traction, braking, network, vibration and noise reduction, cluster operation and maintenance, etc. Its independent and controllable core technologies in key fields ensure the safe and efficient operation of the train, which developed an international benchmark of high speed railway technology.

  Fuxing EMU train is a major breakthrough and landmark achievement of technological innovation of Chinas high speed railway, as well as an important milestone in the process of Chinas railway modernization. In the following days, CR will conscientiously implement the important instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping on facilitating innovation of railway science and technology, continue to promote advances and industrial application of core technologies in key fields of railway, and make unremitting efforts to enhance the self-reliance and self-reinforcement of railway science and technology, to develop new EMU trains that are faster, more energy-saving, more eco-friendly, and safer. The efforts above aim at consolidating and expanding the advantage of China's high speed railway technology as the world leader, empowering the high-quality development of railways with new quality productivity, continuing to meet the peoples aspiration for a better life, and making a greater contribution to Chinas science and technology, transportation strength, and Chinese path to modernization.
